Happy Monday!
The Smith’s had a crazy weekend (a little crazier than normal). Hubs “heart shocking” went well. He is back in a normal rhythm for now. Two weeks ago when he had this done, his heart stayed normal for 4 days. We are hoping for better results this time. Keep your fingers crossed. Thank you so so much for all the well wishes and comments!
My daughter, who is a freshman in highschool, finished lacrosse tryouts on Friday. It was a long and stressful week, but we found out on Friday night that she made Varsity!!!! So excited and so proud of her! It is going to be a really fun season! Another round of tryouts for her summer team on Saturday and Sunday along with a clinic put on by Northwestern University completed the weekend of lacrosse and more lacrosse!
I am excited to show you my “new” chair for my family room. The reason new is in quotes is that it is actually the same chair – just reupholstered. This is the 3rd time this chair has gotten a face lift. That just proves the point that if you spend a little extra to buy a quality product upfront, it will pay for itself for years to come. The last time this chair was redone was about 7 years ago – in my “jewel tone” phase. You know you all had this phase so no judging! Navy blue, maroon and hunter green were my life.
Here is the before:
Hello little paisley jewel tone. You have served your purpose now it is time to give you a younger look. Don’t fight it – I promise you will be like a new woman chair.
A close up of the fabric. It is really not so bad … just a little tired and dated.
I get the feeling that the chair is a little embarrased that I have shown its wrinkles. No worries – a little surgery reuhpolstering will do the trick.
Now for the AFTER!
Aaahhh! That’s better. Some dots of orange, green, yellow and red give this chair back the spunk it needed!
No problem posing for a close up this time. The green looks a little washed out in this picture, but trust me it is a great little green.
No more wrinkles! I put an orange pillow on there so the orange would pop for you a little bit. I am actually having the most amazing Ikat pillow made for this chair with all the colors. Can’t wait to show you!
So what did you think of my chair’s little makeover? I love that it is subtle, but still has all my colors in it. I think the chair is happy – well at least my crazy mind likes to think so.
Hope your life is more wrinkle free heaven than old and tired havoc!
Missi
I will be showing off my chair at these linky parties this week:

Love the new look Missi. Did you have it done locally? I have a similar chair and ottoman that has been relegated to the basement, but maybe it deserves another chance.
Glad to hear the procedure went well for your husband.
Btw, when you have chance, can you email me the name of the guy who did your trim work? I need to get some estimates to replace the rotted wood holding this house together.
Beautiful! I love the idea of buying a quality piece with nice lines and just reupholstering it over time. I hope everything goes okay with your hubby!
LOVE IT … do you mind sharing who did the work .. I have patio cushions that need a face lift or should I say a butt lift … they’re a bit saggy
PS Happy to hear the good news on the Hubs
Great job, my friend. It looks great!
Big hugs to you, Missi.
