Mod Podge JOY

Hello Friends -

I was so thrilled to receive a box in the mail from Mod Podge a couple weeks ago.  It was like an early Christmas!!  I am so in love with Mod Podge products so when I was picked to design a project using their products, I was thrilled!  I had such a blast crafting this holiday JOY project:

I really liked how this project turned out for as simple and easy as it was.  Here are the products I had to choose from:

Can you imagine how thrilled I was when I opened this box and saw all these amazing Mod Podge products?  Unfortunately my picture of the products disappeared so I used a picture from Cherished Bliss blog – you must check out her wood pallet snowflake chargers – incredible!

Here are the products that I used for my JOY project:

KraftyBlok glass blocks from Hobby Lobby, Mod Podge Silver Sparkle Dimension, Super Gloss and Sparkle, two pieces of craft paper, foam brushes, exacto knife and ribbon.

STEP ONE:

Cut craft paper to fit on top of glass block and then trace letter onto back of paper.

Remember to trace the letter on backwards so it will show the right way on the front.

STEP TWO:

Use exacto knife to cut the letter out of the paper.  You are making a silouette so you need to cut the letter out of the middle of the paper.

STEP THREE:

Use the foam brush to cover the front of the glass block with Mod Podge Super Gloss.

STEP FOUR:

Place paper with the cut out letter on top of the glass and smooth out all air bubbles.

STEP FIVE:

Use the foam brush to cover the top of the paper with Mod Podge Sparkle.

This will give the paper a slight sparkly look.  I really like how it turned out.  Who doesn’t like sparkle at the holidays?

STEP FIVE:

Let dry and then use your Mod Podge Silver Sparkle dimensional to outline your letters with dots of sparkle! I also used ribbon and hot glue to wrap around the edges of the block.

STEP SIX:

Fill your glass blocks with Christmas lights.  I used a 70 count light strand with twinkling lights.

STEP SEVEN:

Plug it in and enjoy the beauty of JOY that you created!
