When I think of menswear in decor, I think heavy cable sweaters, leather, houndstooth and plaids. I like warm colors, heavy textures and a cozy pillow in the winter and I always like this look in a man’s study.
I have always been a fan of houndstooth, but I learned something about houndstooth this Christmas. Not everyone looks at houndstooth the same way. For example: For Christmas, we gave my daughter the cutest gray and black houndstooth dress with a thick burnt red belt, burnt red tights, cool earrings and the most awesome burnt red Dr. Martens boots. I was feeling pretty proud of myself for putting together this hip ensemble. Not for long … my teen put me right in my place when I got a “eeewww…. these are Alabama’s colors – I hate Alabama”. Really? Are you frickin’ kidding me? Who automatically goes there when they see houndstooth? Apparently my teen and every one of her friends. In her defense – she did pretend she liked it for about 2 hours before she reminded me of my stupidity. Merry Christmas.

Just a great room. Warm, cozy and comfortable.
Hope your life is more warm, cozy heaven than Bama houndstooth havoc!

I TOTALLY think Alabama whenever I see houndstooth I guess that comes from having UGA Dawgs in the family. I do really like houndstooth. Just can’t wear it. Sorry but I side with the girls on this one Glad your back blogging. Always enjoy your post. I’m going to try your soup recipe one night. Looks yummy and easy.
Hey Lori! Did you try the soup? Hope you liked it! How is the business going? Thanks for always reading my blog – it means so much! I can’t believe I haven’t been to your store yet. Shame on me! I am definitely getting over there SOON!
So Im allowed to make pillowcases out of your brother’s clothes now? He will love that! JK, great post and I learned something new as always! XOXO
Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of
any widgets I could add to my blog that automatically
tweet my newest twitter updates. I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
Missi, I must absolutely agree with Lori on this! In Alabama, ANY houndstooth screams that one is a Crimson Tide fan…….even if that one is NOT!
So, I love houndstooth, too, but won’t wear it! Great post!
That cracks me up! I better get used to it since my daughter has her heart set on Auburn!
War Eagle! All three of my sons graduated from Auburn—In fact, the youngest is currently working toward his PhD there! So instead of houndstooth, you’d better adjust to orange and blue!
