Happy Friday! Even though this was a short week with the holiday, it just dragged for me. I could never figure out which day it was during the week. I am glad it is over. I am ready for the weekend and for some extra sleep!
I am guessing that you have seen this new trend called Ombre, but didn’t know what it was called. I know that is true for me. I am glad to finally have it defined since I am really liking it.
Ombre is from the French word meaning shaded or shading. I feel like the first time I noticed this trend it was with some celebrity’s hair color.

Can you see why this is called Ombre (or shaded)? Notice how the hair goes from dark roots and gets lighter towards the ends. I like it, but don’t think this 45 year old, mother of 4 could pull it off. I can’t pull it off with my hair, but I can enjoy it on furniture. These examples of Ombre painting on furniture are some of my favorites:

And … check out how Ombre has also been used in food and fashion. Do you love it?

So there you have it … Ombre; an adjective: shaded in tone with colors graduating from dark to light. Impress your friends with this word next time you see something shaded.
I hope you enjoyed this week’s Fabulous Friday Favorite. Have a wonderful and safe weekend! See you Monday!
Hope your life is more shaded color heaven than havoc!

You are so funny! Don’t you love the way the word Ombre rolls off the tongue? Very sophisticated sounding. I would LOVE to see pics of the bookshelves and share them on the blog! Thanks for the awesome comment!
Great post–I always thought an Ombre (noun) was a cute Mexican dude. p.s.–the piece with the globe looks sleepy.
You’re hilarious! Add one letter to Ombre and you got yourself a dude – Hombre! Thanks for commenting Tess – I love it!
