10 Favorite Pictures this Week

What an insane day I had on Tuesday!  You will be tired from just reading this, so sit down and hold on.

My lacrosse daughter got home on Monday night from a tournament in Seattle.  I picked her and one of her teammates from the Atlanta Airport.  The airport is 45 minutes from my house in perfect conditions – which, if you know anything about Atlanta traffic, is just about NEVER.

Same daughter and I leave the house at 8:00 a.m. with two of her friends to head back to the airport to go to Minneapolis.  They are spending a week with my mom and dad.  Here they are right after going through security:

Do they think they are “ALL THAT” or what??  My daughter is the one in the middle.  She got new glasses (usually wears contacts) that she thinks she looks smart in, so we have been seeing them on her face quite a bit lately.  Makes me laugh.

Okay … here is where is starts to get nuts.  I get the girls on the plane and then have to run to the car to get back home to pick up one of my twins from Band.  I get her home and then have to go back down to the airport to pick up my son who is coming back from Gammie and Papa’s in MN.  I can’t bear to fight the traffic AGAIN, so I take the MARTA train down.  I barely make it on time and have to run to the gate.  I got there right when the door opened to unload the plane.  Just in the nick of time!  My son and I get back on the train.  Now it is 6:30 p.m. and if you have been counting, I have been down and back to the airport SIX times.  I just want to get home, but the exit gate in the train parking lot has other ideas.

The damn automatic gate will not open for my car.  It will not read my ticket and I am freaking out.  I had to call the number on the box and beg for someone to come let me out.  They sent down a supervisor (15 minutes later) to manually open the gate.  What the heck???  Try to imagine how happy the cars behind me were?  It was awesome. NOT.

It’s time to turn to happier things.  These are 10 pictures that have really caught my eye this week.  Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Do you remember these old cut-crystal decanters sitting on your parents bar cart? How genius  is this to make them into a light fixture? I can just imagine how the light refracts through the crystals onto the walls. Yes – I just used the word “refract” – do not be scared on my knowledge of light. Ha! I don’t even know if that word makes sense in that sentence – but let’s go with it!

  1. Six times! You are a saint! I was tired on your second trip. Love the photos. I’m especially intrigued by the old wooden door. Looks like something from Hogwarts. I am equally as impressed by your use of the word “refract”. You are obviously not a women to be toyed with when it comes to knowledge of lighting. Love the post, Missi! Hope you’re having a fabulous day!!
